Here is a guide that will help you evaluate cues from any maker/retailer.
Generally, makers can aquire three grades of Ash. Lets call them grades A, B and C.

Grade A
This is the highest quality grade and all our XS-SHAFT cues use it. You should be able to see an attractive feather like effect, each feather being clearly formed. You can buy grade A ash cues from our site here.

Grade B
This is when the shaft's feather effect is not formed consistently. There is still a pleasing aesthetic look, though without that complete feather formation.

Grade C
This is the lowest possible grade of shaft, both aesthetically and - to a degree - from a performance perspective. Why? Some players use the feather to align themselves during setup of a shot. Grade C shafts have virtually no complete feather formation. Instead, there is just grainy formation with little pattern.

So what about the XS-SHAFT?

The XS-SHAFT is made of Grade A north American Ash.

Each shaft is fitted with a premium, high-quality polished brass ferrule engineered to fit precisely, as if the shaft and ferrule were one piece of ash with no ridges to spoil the cue's sleek lines.
Each joint is individually engineered to fit - as is the brass ferrule - so that it fits flush. Shaft, ferrule and joint should be as one and that's precisely what we promise with every XS-SHAFT.

Remember - if you can't see feather formation but just a grainy or wishy-washy, nondescript effect you are probably buying the lowest grade of Ash.

What is SupaPro and why buy SupaPro?

SupaPro are a quality Wise Buy ball set consisting of a selection of high quality low cost balls for the non proffesional or Pubs and Clubs.

These Supapro balls are available in Pool Balls and Snooker Balls of almost all sizes, provide good quality balls Ideal for home use. Aramith phenolic resin: why it makes the difference!

	Heavy duty design Rather than a polyester number-plug-design, the Aramith concept has the numbers precision-engraved in a solid core that runs all the way through the ball. As such, it is impossible for number-cores to fall out over time. Using phenolic resin assures homogeneous characteristics in each ball part. So homogeneous that when finally getting to its breaking point (and one needs minimum a 5 ton-load in case of an Aramith ball), the ball will break up totally at random, and not along the parting line between the stripe and the rest of the ball, as one would expect.
	Burn-spot resistant Hitting a cue ball actually accelerates it from 0 to over 30 km/h (20 MPH) in just a fraction of a second. The resulting friction temperature between ball and cloth can easily reach 250°c (482°F). That's why Aramith balls are the only ones made from genuine phenolic resin: their molecular structure is engineered to be wear resistant at these high temperatures, making Aramith balls far less vulnerable to abrasive burn-spots. They hold their high lustre and smoothness over a much longer period of time, resulting in minimal ball and table cloth wear.
	High Impact resistance Because hitting the balls is the essence of the billiard game, impact resistance is a critical factor. Aramith's phenolic heat-curing process fully stabilizes material tensions. It produces a vitrified high-density surface that offers maximum impact resistance. Tests show Aramith phenolic balls to withstand to over 50 times more impacts than other polymer or polyester balls. They are also twice more scratch-resistant. Consequently, when intensively used even on less maintained tables, Aramith balls are clearly far less easily damaged than others by pocket fixings, and table mechanisms or cue sticks...

Protecting your new pool, snooker, carom or pyramid cue -
A quality cue case is a truly worthwhile investment and can add years of extra life. Storing your cue in a cue cases helps prevent warping and unnecessary damage including scratching and breakage. All our cases are produced - like our cues - with that little bit extra care and attention.

Maintenance -
To make sure that your cue or stays in top match-winning condition, just follow these simple rules:

• NEVER leave your cue in a car for a long period as extreme temperatures of heat or cold can lead to warping in your cue.
• AVOID leaning your cue against a wall as this can also cause warping in your cue be it a pool cue, snooker cue carom cue or any type of cue.
• OCCASIONALLY sand the shaft - but never the butt - using pool cue or snooker cue papers.

Quality check -
When you buy your pool cue, snooker cue, carom or pyramid cue, please make sure that it is straight by 'sighting' it.
REMEMBER... if you want to check your cue for straightness, simply look down the line of you cue holding the butt close to your eye and you'll be able to detect if it is warped or not. Never roll it on a table or flat surface.

In their tenth anniversary year they have teamed up with The Big Issue to run a photo competition titled “Climate Change – cause : effect : solution” which is intended to raise awareness and provoke thought around a subject which impacts on all of our futures.
